New Delhi: The total number of vaccine doses against Covid-19 managed in Delhi violated 1.5 crore-mark on Saturday, exactly six weeks since 1 crore-mark crossed.
Until 10 nights on Saturday, a total of 1,50,10,777 doses were given, including 1.06.32,489 first dose and 43.78,288 second dose.
With the number of beneficiaries that qualify for vaccines in Delhi are around 1.5 crore, this means that two third of Delhi’s population who qualified has received at least one dose of vaccine and almost 30% has been fully vaccinated.
Of the total managed doses, almost 60% have been received by them in the category of age 18 to 44 years 87.05,522.
The number of doses given to those in the category of age 45 to 59 years is 41,00,394, which is 27.3% of the total dosage given and those aged 60 years and above have received 22.04.861 doses, which is 14.7% of Total number.
Drive Vaccination began on January 16 this year with the priority group of health care workers and front lines, followed by those aged 60 years and over and those who have comorbidities.
Those aged between 45 and 59 years became qualified for vaccines from April 1, followed by those aged 18 to 44 years since May.
Although it took the total number of vaccine doses given in Delhi to cross 1 crore-mark from January 16 to July 31, it has taken exactly one and a half months for more than 50 lakh more vaccine doses given.
This is due to a quick speed of vaccination drive in August and September.
Up to 10 nights on Saturday, the number of vaccine doses given in the first 11 days of September reached 14.90.491, with almost 1.5 doses of the lakh vaccine provided every day (not including Sundays).
On September 1, a total of 1.1 the dose of the lakh vaccine was given, and the number jumped to 1.5 lakh the next day.
It was September 7 that the number of managed vaccine doses reached a height of 1,72,852 doses.
The numbers have been dipped slightly since then, but the average is still close to a dose of 1.5 lakh a day.
Until Friday, more than 43 lakh people were fully vaccinated.
The North West District has given the highest number of the first dose (12,96,423) and the second vaccine (5,04,312) among all income of the National Capital Regency.
