Lucknow: The Energy Department on Wednesday suppressed dayto-day audit needs from the billing agent.
This happens after repeated complaints from incorrect electricity billing result in consumer dissatisfaction and losing income for the Power Up Limited Corporation.
Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma said that the audit would be carried out from the division to the state level.
“The daily monitoring of the billing process is a must to increase UPPCL’s income position,” he said.
The development came two weeks after the corporation binded five new billing agencies throughout the state.
Sharma said that complaints related to billing must be completed within 24 hours.
“There should be no weaknesses in the complaints related to billing.
In whatever situation the mistake made in the past is repeated.
The correct bill must be provided every month to consumers on time,” he said, emphasizing that accountability must be ensured from the billing agent to the MD distribution company concerned.
Sharma added that the state government received a large number of complaints about consumers who did not get a timely bill.
According to reading only 34% of consumers have been billed.
He also suppressed the need to take the maximum benefit from the one-time completion scheme.
The minister said that all consumers must receive bills on the 20th of each month.
