Bengaluru: A police sub-inspector has been suspended after he allegedly nurtured a young man and forced him to drink urine in the city.
According to a senior police officer, the Harish K Sub-Inspector has been suspended after an investigation of the department.
He has been charged with ‘DereltionSi task and does not register complaints’.
The Byatarayanapura area was tense a few days ago after the police allegedly forced 23-year-old Tausif to drink urine.
Tension in the area and complaints by Tausif’s relatives forced the superiors to start an investigation into the sub-inspectors posted at the Byatarayanapura police station.
Father Tausif Aslam said the police had picked up his son at 1 morning on Thursday to fight with neighbors.
He alleged that the police beat him and also demanded money for his release.
A video was also circulated where Tausif, stretched in pain, was heard saying that the police cut her hair, beat her under her stomach and then forced her to drink urine.
