Hyderabad: Siddipet District collector, Penkatrama Reddy resigned from his post on Monday amid speculation that he would become a candidate for the upcoming MLC elections.
He has about a year again for retirement.
Talking with reporters immediately after announcing his resignation, Venkatrama Reddy said he chose to stop to join the efforts of the chairman of Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the development of the country.
Venkatrama Reddy said he had seen KCR’s vision and efforts for the development of Telangana from close range as a district collector.
Reddy was in the previous news when he touched the KCR foot on the official event which made criticism from the opposition BJP and Congress.
He then said that he did it because of CM like ‘Father’s figure’ to him.
He joined the government service as a group-1 officer in 1996 and was given IAS in 2007.
Reddy worked as a collection of Siddipet, Sirateddy and Rajanna Sircilla District.
