Sidhu is looking for a direct increase with sugar cane

Chandigarh: Ahead of the meeting between the Chair of the Punjab Minister Amarinder Singh and farmers at the price of sugar cane, the head of the ruling congressional state unit, Navjot Singh Sidhu on Tuesday, the stick tariff must immediately increase according to the demands of sugar cane farmers.
Sidhu, who has been in the Loggerheads with Singh in the past, also shows that the price of states (sap) of sugar cane has not been raised since 2018 while input costs grew 30 percent.
The Chairperson of the Minister Singh will be on Tuesday to meet with farmers’ leaders of the price of sugar cane and pending permits.
Farmer agitation for their demands entered the fifth day on Tuesday, impact on train services and road traffic.
“SAP sugar cane farmers have not increased since 2018, while input costs have increased by more than 30%.
Punjab models mean policy interventions provide fair prices, fair shares, diversification in production & processing to provide more benefits to farmers & sugar mills,” Sidhu said in tweets.
In other tweets, the cricket-changed-politicians said, “SAP must immediately climb according to the demand for farmers & delayed contributions must be released.
Along with the modernization of sugar mills for productivity & higher production of a by-product (ethanol, biofuel high value & electricity ) To increase the profit of farmers and sugar factories.
“His latest tweet came a day after he said that the price of sugar cane in Punjab was lower than Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand despite higher input costs and looked for better prices for state farmers.
Haryana was ruled by the BJP-JJP alliance while Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand by BJP.
Farmers who protested demanded RS 400 per quintal sap and cleaning of their delayed contributions.
They have rejected the increase in RS 15 per quintal announced by the Punjab government a few days ago.
The state government has revised the cane tariff to RS 325 for initial varieties, RS 315 for intermediate variations and RS 310 per quintal for maturity varieties.
The protesters have blocked the stretch of Jalandhar-phagwara from Delhi-Amritsar National Highway near the village of Dhanowali District Jalandhar.
They have also blocked Ludhiana-Amritsar and the Ludhiana-hour train line in Jalandhar, influencing several trains.
