New Delhi: Punjab Advocate General Aps Deol, who resigned from his post earlier this week, on Saturday slammed the leader of the Navjot Singh Sidhu congress and accused that the former Cricketer spread political advantage.
“Repeated Sidhu’s words tried to thwart the efforts of the Punjab government to ensure justice in drug material and cases of armor,” Deol said in a statement.
Sidhu opposed the appointment of Advocate General of State Aps Deol and Director General of Police Iqbal Preeting Singh Sahota and showed that these two promises were part of the reason he stopped.
“Navjot Singh Sidhu blocked the functioning of the government and the Ag’s office,” Deol said.
“There are joint efforts by personal interests to defame the function of the Congress Party considering the upcoming election in Punjab for their selfish political benefit by politicizing the Constitutional Office from Advocate General General Punjab,” he added.
Deol has represented the former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini, who led the State Police six years ago during the incident of blasphemy and police opened fire on protesters.
The leader of the Navjot Singh Sidhu congress on Friday said he had resigned as the party’s punjab head but stated that he would not bear back costs until the new new advocate generals.
Even when he announced that he took his resignation of hisself as President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress, Sidhu continued to target the Government of Congress Chararjit Singh new in the state.
Sidhu said everything he asked was what the Channi government had done in the last 50 days in saklir cases and made a special task report on public drug cases.
