Chandigarh: Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu will lead the party leadership parade, including the Council of Ministers, from Mohali to Lakhimpur Kheri on Thursday through the border of Saharanpur from the family to meet farmers killed in violence on Sunday.
Sidhu has tweeted on Tuesday that the Punjab Congress will march towards Lakhimpur Kheri if Priyanka Gandhi is not released the next day and if the State Minister’s Union for Ajay Mishra’s house is not held in connection with violence in Lakhimpur.
Priyanka Gandhi was released from detention at Wisma PAC in Sitapur on Wednesday night and left with his brother Rahul Gandhi for Lakhimpur Kheri.
Punjab Pradesh Committee Congress has directed party people to assemble at the intersection of Mohali International Airport in Patiala Road at 10 am on Thursday.
Team Uttarakhand Toopunjab Congress in Charge Harish Harish will also move to Lakhimpur Kheri on Thursday with the Uttarakhand Congress team led by the President of the President of Ganesh Godiyal.
Rawpinding and other congression leaders will start from Ramnagar and then move through the bajpur and Bareilly to reach Lakhimpur Kheri.
PPCC is looking for 200 vehicles from each Constitution ConstitutionThe Congress will continue from there to Derabassi, Barwala before reaching the Saharanpur border.
The PPCC has directed that at least 200 vehicles from each assembly electoral area under the leadership of the district and the block of each president must join the parade.
PPCC Secretary General Pargate Singh, who is also the Minister of Education and Sports, said there would be a convoy of nearly 10,000 vehicles in the parade.
“Punjab Congress will protest collective and with all ministers.
Our main minister has announced compensation from RS 50 Lakh each for the victim’s family on Wednesday,” he added.
Congress leader from Derabassi, Deepinder Singh Dhillon said that they would try to reach Lakhimpur Kheri but it was up to the police Uttar Pradesh did they give them permission to reach there or not.
“Even if the government is up to give permission for five people, we will send five leaders,” he added.
