Sightless Nashik lad Is Now SPPU’s gold medallist

PUNE: Nashik resident Vedant Mundada (21) was on the Sky on Tuesday If he Obtained’The President of India Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal’ 2020 by Savitribai Phule Pune University’s vice-chancellor Nitin Karmalkar in the 118th convocation ceremony.

Vedant, a hotly contested trade student from KTHM College at Nashik, obtained the coveted trophy by a huge pool of 6.5 lakh pupils from 900 affiliated schools and research centers.
The medal shows admiration for academic virtue and behavior towards peers and teachers and involvement in social and extracurricular pursuits.
A total of 1.61 lakh students will receive their levels via article, college officials said.
The whole programme, except for Vedant’s decoration service, was webcast.
Vedant, who’s completely blind, feels intensely about handicap perceptions.
“The true disabled are people who have their senses and do nothing with their own lives.
I need to alter the perception towards the handicapped.
My fantasy is to split blindness stereotypes.
My goal is to inspire individuals to perform their best in existence.
My parents, educators and culture have assisted me, and only one day, I need to assist in return,” he explained.
He’s fought several battles to continue with schooling.
“As a blind pupil, I had been discouraged from accepting Sanskrit at Std X.
I scored 99/ 100 from the examination.
I had been refused a chair in a reputable school in Nashik due to becoming blind.
They stated it had been the wrong option.
I snapped the CPT test, and get rid of the initial degree of the intermediate examination.
I need to become a CA,” that a bouyant Vedant stated.
His parents Umesh and Jayshri stated their son was an achiever straight through.
“He awakened in Std X from the country in his group, has finished his Visharad examination in tabla, he’s a flautist and may play with the harmonium, was a school representative, a baseball participant and has been instrumental in devoting the retina of his grandparents into four individuals.
In addition, he has a differentiation in BCom.
Beyond this, he’s been directing and inspiring individuals with visual disability, assisting their families know their planet and the kids with Braille and applications,” Mundada stated.
Vedant’s optic nerves have been ruined and he dropped his eyesight when he was just one and half a year old.
“We’re heartbroken.
We went to a lot of hospitals because of his remedy, seen temples and also delved into superstition to receive back his eyesight.
After we recognized it as God’s will, we worked prior to producing his life easier.
He never defeated us.
It’s a honor to be famous because of our son’s accomplishments,” his dad said.
Primary of KTHM College VB Gaikwad stated Vedant had been an exemplary pupil.
“From amateurs to conduct to his excitement to be part of what, he had been wonderful and we are delighted to educate such pupils.
Vedant accomplishes this trophy and a lot longer,” he explained.
