Written by news2in

Kanpur: Given the trial proposed in the nine-kilometer priority corridor between IIT and Motijheel in November, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC) has started testing the signaling system in the Metro Depot, which is located near Gurudev Chauraha.
The first train set is being prepared for trials on the test track on the depot and before this happens, the signal is charged and tested.
This process is known as ‘Signaling Power on Test’.
Meanwhile, signal installation work is almost finished on the depot and in the mainstream.
A total of 29 signals must be installed in the depot, including, 27 has been installed.
The main route must be equipped with 43 signals, including 35 it has been placed.
At present, the work of the signal installation is waiting at the Motijheel Metro station only and it will also be finished immediately, UPMRC states on Thursday night.
The Metro Train movement will be controlled with three colored signals: red, violet and green.
The red signal means stop, while the violet signal allows for conditional application (movement with a prescribed low speed limit).
This signal is displayed when other trains are around it.
Green refers to clear routes and drivers (train operators) can continue freely with the speed limit permitted.
One type of signal exists for movement inside the depot.
This signal has three white lights.
When two lights shine horizontally, the driver is instructed to stop and when the two lights shine at a 45 degree angle, the train is left to continue.
This signal is called ‘Signal Shunt.’ Meanwhile, Metro construction work has begun at the Naveen market intersection.
Here the construction of the underground station has begun.
The construction company will build four underground metro stations – Chunniganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha and Nayaganj.
This work is part of the two phases of one of the Kanpur Metro projects.
