New Delhi: In the steps that will assist in maintaining the Mirage-2000 fighter fleet, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has signed a contract to buy the Fatamorgana French Air Force, in accordance with government sources.
This is a second covenant such that the Indian Air Force has signed to buy airplanes driven which will help one of the most powerful aircraft fleets to continue longer in service.

On August 31, a contract was signed to obtain this phase-out aircraft to increase spare parts and capabilities of Airframe to help improve the convenience of servicing around 50 Mirage-2000s.

Previously, India had signed a contract with the French company because it supplies old Fatamorgana which reached Gwalior last year and has helped significantly increase operational availability, the sources said.
The French Air Force has replaced the old Fatamorganan fleet with a new Rafale combat jet.
India has acquired these aircraft from France in the 1980s and they have become one of the most powerful aircraft fleets despite more than three decades.
The aircraft had taken part in Balakot Airstrikes against terrorist camps in Pakistan and destroyed a camp there.
