SRINAGAR: Chairman of the Sikh Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC), Jagmohan Raina on Wednesday urged the center to implement special marriage laws, actions that regulate marriage between castees, and anti-conversion laws in Jammu & Kashmir.
“Once this law is practiced, incidents such as inter-caste marriage will end automatically,” he said.
Sikh leaders say legal implementation “will stop forced repentance of anyone who has anything.” In addition to the Chair of the Raina, several major community leaders, such as Ajit Singh Mastana, Paramjit Singh Bali, Indumeet Singh and Zeo Hakumat Singh were present at a press conference.
Media direction, Jagmohan Raina said “Muslim and Sikh communities have lived here for years despite many efforts to ride slices between them.” Previously, members of the Sikh community have accused two Sikh girls “forcefully” marry Muslim men.
After getting the girls back, but the community married them to Sikh children based outside J & K.
It was important that both Muslim and Sikh defended it harmony and brotherhood together, the leaders said.
The leaders urge people need to remain vigilant and ensure that the atmosphere is not removed.
