Coimbatore: The police competition course on Monday arrested a 62-year-old man in connection with the death of three wall painters on November 4 at Pappanatickalalayam.
The defendant, N Rajasekar, 62, an Instructor of Silambam and Kalari from Pappanenickenkenpalayam in the city, was ordered under Section 302 (killing) from Indian Criminal Code.
Introductory investigation reveals Rajasekar to establish a relationship with a woman.
His friend was a Muruganandam, 57, a wall painter from Mariamman Kovil Street, also tried to cheat with the woman.
Rajasekar decided to finish Muruganandam and gave him a liquor with cyanide as a gift on November to the next day, Muruganandam and his friends M partriban, 35, and S Saktivel, 61, consumed liquor and died.
Devoted that they had consumed liquor mixed with diluents, the race course initially registered a case below the part 174 CRPC and sent a corpse to Coimbatore Medical College and hospital for autopsy.
The police also sent bottles of liquor to the Forensic Science Laboratory.
Lab reports find the existence of cyanide in liquor.
Immediately, the police collected CCTV recordings in the area and found Rajasekar walking with Muruganandam.
When picked up at Monda, Rajekar claimed to be a crime.
