Lucknow: The case has been registered with three people, including the Head of the Congress of Ajay Kumar Lallu, who sits above the silent protest in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue here together with the Secretary General of the Priyanka Party Gandhi Vadra, police said on Saturday.
This case has been registered to damage public property, sitting in protest without permission and without providing previous information, said Police Commissioner Lucknow D K Thakur.
Gandhi, on a two-day visit to Lucknow, has protested along with other party members in front of the Statue of Mahatma Gandhi at GPO Park on Friday.
Police said Congress workers damaged the iron clean structure located in the GPO park, and violated the epidemic action, during protests.
“FIR has been registered against the Head of Congress Ajay Kumar Lallu, Congress leaders Ved Prakash Tripathi and Singh diljit, and 500-600 unknown party workers.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is not mentioned in FI,” said Thakur to PTI.
ASHOK Singh Congress spokesman said Gandhi sat on mute protests to highlight the cruelty in women, administrative anarchy and police.
“Women are not safe in the state.
Priyankaji sat on ‘Maun Vrat’ (mute protest) at the foot of Mahatma Gandhi to end this forest and to revoke the government of this dictator,” Lallu said on Saturday.
