Hyderabad: The Association of Muslim Women (MWA) held a silent protest against the prohibition of headscarves in Karnataka at the Hockey Ground at the Tanks Masab on Tuesday.
Protesters held placards and urged the central and state government to ensure the safety and safety of Muslim women throughout the country.
“We came here to protest the prohibition of headscarves in educational institutions.
The prohibition was contrary to the constitution and no one could seize its constitutional rights,” Asma Nadeem, Secretary General, MWA, said.
He added that if the trend continued, the association would suggest Muslim girls to boycott the school and college which imposed a headscarf ban.
MWA also demanded that the Karnataka government withdraw immediately about uniforms.
“Such an attitude opposes our constitutional rights and Beti Slogan Bachao Beti Beti.
We have come out to support the daughters who face obstacles in education and have a political agenda behind the whole problem.
We condemn,” said a protester.
