Silver for Boy Letters at Chemical Olympics

Letter: A 12-year-old student who was 17 years old, Mahit Gadhiwala, won a silver medal at the 53rd International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO) recently in Japan.
Of the 350 students around the world, he secured 46th rank.
Gadhiwala, an English scholar student Academy (SCA), is between four students who represent India where two won gold while two won the silver medal.
Gadhiwala is the only student from the state to shine on international events.
The son of the Dentist Couple Rajesh and Premal, Gadhiwala previously won a gold medal at the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) and was ranked at Kishore Vaigyanik Protection of Yojana (KVPY) as well.
“I study widely to prepare the Olympics,” Gadhiwala said.
The Olympics were held in Osaka in Japan and each candidate was monitored by the inspection body through three CCTV cameras installed in the ‘test room’.
Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE) conducts tests.
“MAHITI has prepared this exam for the past six years,” said Nehchalsingh Hanspal, Head of the Allen Career Institute center.
Question paper 150 pages sent to students one hour before the test.
Of the 350 students from 79 countries, the top 10% finishers received a gold medal while the next 20% were given silver and the next 30% secured bronze.
