Thiruvananthapuram: Chairman of the Pinarayaya Minister Vijayan has written to Finance Minister Union Nirmala Sitharaman seeking funds for the silver line project.
He urged the center to allocate Rs 2,150 Crore in the upcoming budget.
The minister’s chairman, in his letter, said that the Silverline project was included in the national railway plan and in budget speech 2021 the minister has announced in parliament that all projects included in the national railway plan will be completed in 2030.
“This is a project in line with government policy India and will contribute greatly to the economic development of the country.
This project is also in line with Make In India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives aim to improve the overall state production capacity, “said the minister’s chief.
“I ask you to allocate funds for the equity contribution of Rs 2,150 Crore for the project in the upcoming budget.
Also requested that a shared financing proposal delayed by the Department of Economic Affairs can be approved and submitted to the Bank for further assessment and sanctions,” he said.
This letter assumes the significance since officials of the Union train Ministry will discuss with state officials on the project on Monday in Delhi.
Despite the opposition from UDF, the government will advance with the project in Kerala.
CM and CPM have explained that there is no more on the project and it cannot be avoided for the development of the country.
