Tokyo: The participation of Simone Biles in the remaining Tokyo Olympics plunged into uncertainty on Tuesday after he dramatically withdrew from the final team with a “medical problem”.
The American superstar came out of the final at the Ariah Gymnastics Center after a Loyo opening safe and briefly left the floor of the competition, before returning to join his team-mate.
But the US team replaced it in three closing routines on the bar, beam, and uneven floors.
Statement from Gymnastics United States said Biles suffered “medical problems” which were not determined and will now face a daily judgment to determine whether he could continue the Olympic campaign.
“Simone has resigned from the team’s final competition because of a medical problem,” the statement told AFP said.
“He will be assessed every day to determine medical permits for future competitions.” Biles spent competition enthusiastically cheering his team-mate.
The four-time gold medal in Rio Game 2016 qualifies for all the finals available for him but his appearance in the introduction round on Sundays is filled with errors that are not normal.
In the Instagram Candid post on 24-year-old Monday said he felt pressure during Sunday qualifications.
“I really feel like having a heavy world on my shoulders sometimes,” Biles wrote.
“I know I’m concerned about it and make it look like pressure doesn’t affect me but sometimes it’s hard …
Olympics aren’t a joke!” If Biles cannot continue in Tokyo, it will mark the change of an amazing event in a game that is expected to dominate.
He had bid to become the first woman in more than half a century to defend the All-Around title, and had a realistic opportunity to match Soviet Gymnastics Larisa’s record of nine Olympic gold medals.
Before the Olympics, Biles revealed that he had fought up depression after revealing him among the hundreds of gymnasts who had been sexually harassed by former Olympic team doctor Larry Nassar, who now serves a life sentence for his crime.
In the multi-section documentary series was recently posted on Facebook, Biles also revealed he was disturbed by the right ankle problem this year after landing awkwardly during the training in May.
“At present, what we face is that I only have a lot of fluids built there,” Biles said during the episode.
“There is nothing we can do at this time.
We don’t have time to rest, we don’t have time for shooting and all the items, so the tape is.”
