‘Simplify the disbursement of Lega Ex Gratia’

Pune: Local administration must simplify the process of disbursement of ex gratia compensation and ensures that the settlement of the claim is resolved earlier, said state government officials.
While 1.38 lakh KIN from Covid died is expected to get compensation in the state, the number of districts currently almost 19,000, declared officials.
Of these, the maximum recipient comes from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area followed by Pune Rural, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and the City Council Board.
According to district health officials, the total number of deaths registered in the district until October 4 is 18,956 (PMC – 9038, PCMC – 3848, Board – 1152, Cantonments – 3543).
State government officials told TOI that when they were preparing a web portal, the application would be played by each local authority and if there would be a problem regarding who was actually the heir, a committee would be appointed by the regional government to verify and clear the case.
“The idea is not to keep the case delayed and accelerate at the beginning,” Sharing Officials.
The country has searched for Rs 750 Crore from the center because the country is cash tied for funds.
However, even when the request has been submitted, once the software is removed they will begin to channel funds, stating officials.
On June 30, SC decided that the center could not stop its responsibility under the disaster management law to correct the amount of compensation paid to KIN from those who surrendered to Covid, which was declared a national disaster under the action.
The complainant must submit a request to receive assistance, he said, adding that those who meet the requirements will get the number through the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).
The top 10 countries that have reported the most Covid death are Maharashtra (1.38 lakh), Karnataka (37,000), Tamil Nadu (35,000), Delhi (25,000), up (23,000), Kerala (22,500), West Bengal (19,000) , Punjab (16,000), Andhra Pradesh (14,000) and Chhattisgarh (13,500).
Some states have led in providing Ex-Gratia to Kin Covid victims, not from SDRF but from other sources such as the Minister of Chief Assistance funds.
The state has demanded the help of Rs 7700 Crore to handle damage caused by various natural disasters this year but only the approved 4200 crore Hospital was largely spent, declaring disaster management authorities.
