Ahmedabad: Public Health Center (CHC) in Singarva in the eastern part of the city received a dialysis center, with three dialysis machines, for free maintenance under the initiative of the Gujarat Dialysis (GDP) program on Monday.
It is the 53rd center under the initiative run by the Institute of Kidney Disease and Research Center (IKDRC), where a total of 510 functional hemodialysis machines.
Dr.
Vineet Mishra, Director of the IKDRC, said the purpose of this initiative was to ensure a dialysis center within 30 km anywhere in the state.
In Ahmedabad, Civil Sola Hospital has a special center with 23 dialysis machines, while in the eastern part of the city, civil hospitals have so far have 12 machines.
Experts say every year around 20,000 sessions are carried out for kidney disease patients from kidney failure to severe kidney infections.
