Chandigarh: Deputy Deputy Minister Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been seeking an investigation from the judge sitting to find out the real cause of the incident where a caste (SC) man scheduled from Tarn Taran on Friday.
Randhawa said this was a sensitive problem related to the religious beliefs of people and also related to farmers who peacefully protested almost a year against Draconian agricultural law from the central government.
“At these important points, it is very important to identify anti-social elements inciting religious sentiment and slander farmer agitation because of this kind of desperate effort aimed at sabotganizing the most peaceful and disciplined agitation has been made by some dissatisfied elements,” said Randhawa .
Randhawa, who also headed the home department of the State, said the Haryana government and the police could not escape this incident as the responsibility of maintaining the law and order concerned.
He also questioned the police Haryana for not making strict security arrangements in places where a large number of people gathered and the Religious Scriptures were stored.
