Thrissur: Kodakara Heist Highway Case has taken a new turn with a special investigation team (sitting) that issued a notification to the State President BJP K Surendran appeared before him on Tuesday to be questioned.
According to sources sitting in Thrissur, Surendran has been asked to appear on the Thrissur Police Club at 10 am.
Police officials have directly served the notification to Surdendran at his residence in Kozhikode.
BJP leaders, however, indicated that Surdendran could not appear before sitting on Tuesday.
The BJP state carrier-level meeting was scheduled for that day and Surdendran could not miss it, they said.
Officials sit, led by Thrissur Range Digging Akbar, has questioned the Secretary of Dipin Surendran and his driver Ledheesh in June 5.
The team also asked several BJP leaders, including the State Secretary of M, Secretary of the State of Treasurer, Alappuzha District, KG Kartha, District President Thrissur KK Aneeshkumar and Central Area Secretary L Padmakumar, in connection with this case.
Heist has occurred on April 3, and the money involved is being transported in a car allegedly for the BJP selection work.
The party who carried out the action had followed a car in two other vehicles, and intercepted him by creating artificial accidents near Kodakara.
According to the Rural Thrissur SP Poonguzhali who initially investigated this case, Dharmarajan who allegedly sent money in the car told the police that he was an RSS activist.
Dharmarajan was also reported to the police that Sunil rose, former treasurer of Yuva Morcha, had given a portion of him.
