Thane: Thane City Police formed a special investigation team (sitting) to investigate cases of alleged extortion against former Police Commissioner Mumbai Param Singh and 27 others, said an official on Saturday.
This case was registered against Singh and the other in the complaint submitted by Builder Ketan Tanna at the Thane Nagar police station last week.
There is no arrest that has been made in this connection.

Tanna alleged that when Singh was Police Commissioner Thane between January 2018 and February 2019, the defendant extorted Rs 1.25 Crore from him by calling him to the anti-extortion cell office and threatening to flour in a serious criminal case.
Maharashtra Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has investigated other complaints from alleged extortion submitted by Bookie Sonu on the road against Singh.
Singh was discussed from the position of Mumbai police chief this year after the recovery of SUVs with explosives near the Mukesh Ambani Industrialist residence in South Mumbai.
IPS officers were then accused of later interior minister Anil Deshmukh from corruption.
