Vadodara: Three people from Bhuj who were associated with Salahuddin Sheikh, accused of racquets of religious conversion, has been questioned by a special investigation team.
The police said they had taken the trio statement used by Sheikh to route illegal funds he got from Dubai.
“We asked Mujib Memon, Umar Memon and Mushtaq Sheikh who regularly associated with Sheikh.
Mujib runs the allowance at Bhuj.
Everything is semi-literate and Sheikh uses it to wash money,” police said, adding they might not be aware of the illegal activities of Sheikh.
The police have also taken another four statement under the 164 CRPC section in connection with this case.
Sitting on Monday took one of the defendants, Mohammed Hussain Gulam Rasool Mansuri to Bhuj for detailed investigations into the Sheikh fund.
“Sheikh used Hawala funds he was transferred through AFMI Charitable Trust to build a mosque in Bhuj.
Mansuri has been taken to Bhuj because he knows the details of the places where the funds are spent,” the police who captured Mansuri last week after the last crushed the pen-drive which contains information about AFMI financial transactions.
The police have been in Uttar Pradesh to arrest Sheikh and Mohammad Umar, both of them accused of funding conversion activities throughout the country.
“The police rise, however, add new parts to the duo and interrogate them again.
It will take a few days before being taken to the city,” police said.
