SURAT: Native trustees of Bombay Patel Welfare Society were Detained by Bharuch Authorities on Saturday in connection with the fire in Welfare Hospital.
Formerly, two additional trustees have been nabbed on May 15. The detained trustees contain office-bearers. Even though the FIR filed by cops on May 12 had appointed just president Dr Khalid Patel too accusedothers also were held accountable for the accident which claimed 18 lives on May 1. Apart from Khalid, vice-president Faruk Ibrahim Patel, general secretary Zuber Patel, treasurer Salim Patel, Ahmed Ruwala, Faruk Abdullah Patel, Habib Patel, Mohammed Faruq Patel and Suhel Dalal are left accused. Police stated that the president cannot be held accountable for the episode as the whole board of trustees oversees the trust. “We assessed the records and details of the hope available together with all the charity commissioner and discovered as per the principles all are accountable,” said deputy superintendent of police M Bhojani.
