Six countries of EU members have sent a letter to block executive warnings against the deportation of Afghan asylum seekers despite the major advancement of Taliban militants in their country, a minister of one signatory said.
“The area of an insecure country does not mean that every citizen in the country is automatically entitled to protection,” The Belgian Secretary for asylum and migration, Sammy Mahdi, said on Twitter on Monday night.
He named Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark and Greece as a signatory letter to the European Commission.
Taliban, struggling to resolve the strict Islamic law after their 2001 Ouster from Kabul, has increased their campaign to defeat the government as a foreign force with withdrawing from the country, capturing the sixth provincial capital on Monday.
This problem is expected to emerge at the online crisis meeting of the Minister of EU domestic affairs on August 18, which is regulated primarily to discuss the wave of illegal border crossings from Belarus to the state of Lithuania.
Poland and Latvia have also seen an increase in migrant flow from Belarus.
Mahdi said the deportation of asylum seekers who were rejected from Afghanistan ordered to leave the country must be possible.
“Afghanistan, after a thorough and independent investigation, clearly does not need asylum, it cannot remain in Belgium,” he said.
The European Commission said he had received a letter from six countries and would answer in time.
