Kanpur: Six cows were found dead and 12 fell ill at the Cow Shelter (Gaushala) in Parauli Grand Village at the Etawah District Block Basehar on Monday.
Locals in the area, who visited Gaushala found that there were more than 1000 animals in Gaushala, where six were found dead while 12 had fallen ill.
Furthermore, they brought this problem to knowledge about senior district authorities and asked them to form a veterinary team to examine Gaushala and post-mortgage dead cow to ensure the cause of their deaths.
“We have known about the incident.
District animal officers have been asked to examine Gaushala and submit their reports.
The cause of the death of cattle is certain”, SDM said Siddarth.
Gaushala is run by Sankat Mochan Balaji temple management.
The people who work in Gaushala say animals are dying because of lack of food.
Sankat manager Mochan Balaji Temple Manish Yadav Patre blamed the authorities because he did not release funds for cattle.
“There are more than 1000 cows in Gaushala.
We have not received funds from the block development office.
We told the authorities in February itself about lack of funds but to succeed,” Patre said.
