PUNE: Six individuals were detained on Wednesdaya day when they abducted a pharmacist by Wakad posing as policemen on Tuesday and demanded ransom of Rs5 lakh by a health practitioner he understood.
A group of those Wakad authorities, headed by senior inspector Vivek Mugalikar, rescued the 53-year-old pharmacist in just 3 hours and detained both suspects.
An officer in the Wakad authorities said the suspects moved into the pharmacist shop in Wakad on Tuesday and introduced themselves as policemen.
“They hunted the store, liberally took a couple of kits utilized for medical termination of pregnancy and a few documents,” the officer stated.
He stated the six guys then began threatening that the pharmacist asserting that the authorities had prohibited the selling of the kits.
“They afterwards pressured the pharmacist to some vehicle together.
They drove at the Wakad region for approximately one hour contacted a medical practitioner that the pharmacist understood,” he explained.
The suspects needed Rs5 lakh by the health care professional and threatened to kill him along with the pharmacist when the cash wasn’t organized in one hour.
“The physician promptly contacted senior inspector Mugalikar and inquired if any police officer had been sent to the drugstore.
The senior inspector promptly sent a police group to Dange Chowk, in which the medical specialist was advised to include all the cash,” the officer stated.
He said that the suspects fled when they saw that the authorities.
The pharmacist was so rescued.
