BALASORE: At least six people were killed and 20 others were injured after a coal-filled truck crashed into a bus from behind in the Balalasore Odisha district on Saturday, police said.
The accident occurred at around 1:40 a.m.
on a national 16 highway in the Bidu area when the vehicle of the goods crashed into the bus which caused it to fall into the roadside trench, a senior officer said.
“The bus stood on the road to lift the passenger when the accident happened.
It was gone from Mayurbukkanj to Bhubaneswar.
The truck was upside down on the road after the accident,” he said.
A woman and a child is among the regional transport officers of Rashmi Dalabehera regional.
The deceased has not been identified so far, the police said.
The injured people have been hospitalized in Soro and in the city of Balasore, he added.
