DIPHU: Six Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) militants have been on Sunday killed in an encounter with security forces in West Karbi Anglong district, across the Assam-Nagaland boundary, ” a senior police officer stated.
Working to a tip-off, a joint operation has been introduced at the district with a group of police officers along with Assam Rifles staff, headed by West Karbi Anglong Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Prakash Sonowal, ” he explained.
An exchange of fire between the safety staff along with the militants, after that six members of the outfit were gunned down in Michibailung place, ” the officer stated.
Four AK-47 rifles and lots of rounds of ammunition have been recovered from the slain militants, the older officer explained, adding combing operations remain underway at Michibailung.
