Varanasi: At least six people were killed in four separate road accidents in Ballia, Chandauli and Mirzapur and Mirzapur district from Saturday morning.
Ballia, a 4-year-old girl, Soni Pastras and Dinesh Sharma (50) from the village of Bahudara under the limits of the Maniyar police station run by a car on the road to the bridge near their home on Sunday morning.
The car falls into the roadside trench.
Locals immediately rushed Soni and Dinesh to the hospital where the doctor said they were taken dead.
The car driver managed to escape.
Maniyar police reached the place and arrested Ajay Kumar Gupta and Ajit Kumar Gupta from Sahatwar, who traveled in the car.
The police said that young men had to appear for uptet 2021 examination and had booked cars to reach their exam centers in the Sikandarpur area and Banshi Bazar.
They were on the way when the driver lost control of the vehicle, the police said, efforts to outperform the driver.
In another incident, one Aunar Singh (30) from Tunaha Village in the Varanasi region returned home from Saktheshgah when a motorcycle crashed into a tree in the Chunar area, Mirzapur police said.
He suffered serious injuries and rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.
In Mirzapur, a truck and dumper collided at Overbridge in the Babura Bhairo area under the limits of the Lalganjur police station in Mirzapur on Sunday morning.
Police said that the driver of Nageshwar Tiwari (36) Dumpers from Sidhi in Madhya Pradesh suffered a big injury and rushed to a local hospital, where he gave up on injury during treatment.
