Skipper Kohli’s contribution at T20IS has been very large: Rajeev Shukla

New Delhi: With Virat Kohli announced his decision to step down as captain of the T20 from the Indian team after the World Cup in UAE and Oman, Vice President BCCI Rajeev Shukla said that the Indian council respected his decision, BCCI believes the team can win the showpiece under Kohli’s leadership.
Speaking to Ani, Shukla said that Kohli’s contribution at T20IS for India was very large not only as Batsman, but also as a leader.
“His contribution in the T20is is very large, not only as a Batsman, but also as captain.
Therefore it is his personal decision, we respect him and I am sure we can win the T20 World Cup under his leadership,” he said.
Kohli explained his decision to leave the T20i captain in a statement on Twitter.

“I was lucky enough not to represent India but also led the Indian cricket team with my best ability.
I thank everyone who has supported me on my journey as captain of the Indian cricket team,” Kohli said in a statement.
