Ballia: Five Jamajwadi Party Workers on Monday were arrested for allegedly in indecent sloganeering against the Minister of Sports Uttar Pradesh Upendra Tiwari, police said.
The state police on Sunday registered a case against 10 people, including the chairman of the newly chosen Zila Panchayat and his father, for allegedly pampering themselves in indecent sloganeering towards Tiwari.
“Five Workers SP – Shailendra Yadav, Manish Yadav, Tinkal Singh, Shivpal Singh and Vikas Kumar Ojha have been arrested from the party office today (Monday),” said the supervisor of the police, Sanjay Yadav said.
Chairman of the newly elected Ballia Zila Panchayat, Anand Chaudhary, his father Ambika Chaudhary and hundreds of unknown people were ordered by the police, said Yadav.
One of the defendants was arrested on Sunday, he added.
According to the police, a video where SP workers sometimes seem to indulge in Sloganeering against Tiwari became viral on social media after the BJP leaders from the district met with the vipin tada supervisor at his residence.
Meanwhile, Tiwari accused that SP workers have harassed his mother and sister.
