Madurai: Confirming the death penalty which was put down by the trial court in a man for rape and the murder of a 7-year-old girl in the Pulukttai District, Madras High Court on Wednesday observed that when a man’s attitude turned into a wild animal did not have mercy for other beings, He must be punished and sent to the eternal world.
The division bench of Justice S Vaidyanathan and Justice G Jayachandran observed, “We are a little hesitant to take a person’s life by a judicial and thinking of changing penalties is one of the prisons for life.
But, after the maturity of deliberation and contemplation, we are reminded of the sermon Lord Krishna to Arjuna on the battlefield that everyone will disappear from the world, even if he (Arjuna) does not shoot enemies with arrows, even though they are a brother / person who is known.
“The judges also subsequently quoted the Koran and the Bible to justify upholding The height of the death penalty given to the man.
Referring to the line of the song sung by Seerkazhi S Govindarajan in the 1964 film Karnan, the judges said that in the song the word ‘courage’ was mentioned, which showed ‘courage’ to kill his enemies.
“Similar to that, the word ‘courage’ can be installed in this case means that we must let go of our duties boldly without fear or favors according to the oath taken by us,” the judges said.
The judges observed that in all justice, “We found that the trial court judgment filled all the teststones to determine that it was one of the rare rare cases for the imposition of the death penalty, as the imposition of other punishment which was far less prison sentences.
Not at all adequate and inadequate and will not fulfill the tip of justice.

On June 30, 2020, Accused – Samivel Alias King – raped and killed the victim’s girl owned by the scheduled caste community.
