Madurai: All digital meters in Tamil Nadu will be replaced by Smart Meter because they will help reduce the losses suffered by Tangedco because of the difference in electricity produced and distributed, said Electricity V Senthil Balaji.
The minister held a review of the review with South Regency officials, in front of the P Muhorthy Tax Minister, Madurai District collector Dr.
S Aneesh Sekhar and others.
Loss of lines – electrical differences produced and distributed and electricity consumed – resulted in losses and this will be corrected through smart meters, he said.
Because asked about the former Electricity Minister P Thangamani stated that what the government claimed as a loss because corruption was because the previous AIDMK government did not increase the cost of electricity, he said it was stated in the CAG report and not alleged by DMK.
It is a CAG report that indicates losses in 2G fraud and hyped media, he said.
“Thangamani and former Main Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami must notify us where Crore Rs 4.5 Lakh is allocated for the development of the electricity sector under their vision,” he said.
This is intended to develop infrastructure in the electricity sector, but there is no new power plant established during the ten-year government of AIADMK, he said.
