Smart software home in Copycats takes an online exam

Letter / Vadodara: Mehul Kumar, a student of BCOM, has convinced his topper friend to appear in the online exam on his name.
But a few minutes after his friend began to answer the question, he was immediately identified.
Other students who think a promp in sitting next to him will help in breaking the online exam also fails miserably.
Nearly 500 copycats had been caught adopting unfair facilities when it appeared in an online exam from various undergraduate programs and Postgraduate Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) which began on June 26.
These students do not realize that their images are clicked, their videos are clicked, their videos are clicked, their videos are recorded by the device they think will give them a lot of concessions to cheat.
Based on this suspicious behavior, VNSGU has registered cases for these students who are being reviewed by the facts’ findings panel.
“Students tried to use Bluetooth earphones, talked by telephone or referring to the book to find answers.
All such mistakes were arrested,” said Ib Patel, VNSGU officers about special tasks (exam section).
Interestingly, during the offline exam more than 1.50 lakh students, around 600 was caught adopting unfair facilities in VNSGU.
But in online format, more than 500 only 33,000 were caught.
“Students are happy with this online exam format and those who emerge with preparation do not need to be afraid of anything,” said Vice Chancellor VNSGU (VC) K N Chavda.
VNSGU starts using software to maintain the chastity of the online exam starting this year.
But another university in Gujarat beaten cheating in their own game since last year.
University M at Vadodara University and Sardar Patel in Vallabh Vidyanagar adopted the online exam given last year.
Initially, more than 20% of 9,000 students appeared for online exams had tried several or other ways to cheat at the MSU.
“But when the message is hard and clear that there is an eye that constantly watches it, the number of students who adopt unfair facilities is also reduced.
Now, the number that his cheat has split two,” said the MSU supervisor K Mu Chudasama.
MSU developed customized in-house software to detect suspicious movements on the screen.
Required the screenshot the answer tried by students, forbidden to open another screen to Google Search for answers, capture images and record videos if there is a suspicious movement.
The university has also forbidden the use of headphones.
“Students take a walk in their home or keep literature behind the scenes gradually stop because all unwanted movements are noted,” he said.
SPU VC Shirish Kulkarni said that the university took services from a Ahmedabad based software company that had provided such services to Gujarat Technology University (GTU).
“Proctoring becomes possible like now we can show photos to students who are caught by cheating or using an unfair way during their online exam,” Kulkarni said.
SPU has changed the rules where students caught adopting unfair facilities during the online exam can also be punished.
“Now, they will be blocked to adopt such facilities when it appears for an online exam,” he said.
