Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) have developed motorized wheelchair vehicles that can be used not only on the road but even in uneven fields.
Called ‘Neobolt’, has a maximum speed of 25 kmpj and moves up to 25 km per charge.
Neobolt was developed by a team led by Professor Sujatha Srinivasan, Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Madras, and has been commercialized through a startup called ‘neomotion.’ Startup has been established by Professor Srinivasan and Iit Madras alumni, Sochav Swostik.
Dash, who is the CEO of neomotion.
Start-up has also grown and launched commercially ‘neofly,’ personalized wheelchair.

It is built to provide comfort, efficient propulsion, the ability of higher maneuvers and superior ergonomics.
Motor-powered attachments, neobolt turns neofly into a decent vehicle, worth the road that can navigate all types of terrain What we usually encounter – drive through the streets that are not paved or climb a steep gradient.
And do this comfortably because there is a suspension to absorb shocks, “said Prof.
Sujatha Srinivasan.
“Along with the warranty of the product, we provide spare parts and after-sales services so our users can use the product that is complexity.
Our direct focus is to increase production and make neofly and neobolt available for users throughout India.
Personalized neofly wheelchairs available at RS 39,900 and neobolt motorized add-on is available at Rs 55,000.
