Surat: The Body of a four-year-old boy, who’d died as a result of gastroenteritis had been exhumed on Wednesday in existence of sub-divisional magistrate for clinical evaluation.
The boy was one of the six that had died on the last week, even after drinking polluted water in the water pipeline from Kathore village nearby Surat city.
“Forensic postmortem of this human body is going to be done in order to discover the specific cause of death,” explained a police officer in Kamrej police channel.
The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) announced a compensation of Rs 1 lakh to kin of every deceased.
The civic body said that it will cover the cost of therapy over 70 that were impacted by ingesting the sewage-laced H20.
Police registered a case of unintentional death case in relationship passing of six individuals who died because of acute gastroenteritis from Kathore.
Previously, SMC maintained that only four men had perished, but a thorough investigation revealed a total of half had perished as a result of this disease.
“SMC will cover reimbursement the kin of every deceased and therapy fees of people who obtained treatment in hospitals,” explained Banchhanidhi Pani, SMC commissioner.
“We’re making crucial changes in water distribution infrastructure to avoid this kind of incident later on,” stated an SMC officer.
The water contamination has been caused because of mixing of sewer from drinking water heaters.
