Smith who was injured was ready to miss the T20 World Cup to fit the ashes

Melbourne: Recovering from an elbow injury, Australian Star Batsman Steve Smith said the Cricket test remained a top priority and he was ready to pass the T20 World Cup to be the best form for England.
The 32-year-old child has resigned from a tour of a white ball that was ongoing in West Indies due to an elbow injury.
“There is still a little time between now and (World Cup), and I track okay now – slow, but I will be fine,” Smith told Cricket.com.au on Friday.
The T20 World Cup shifted from India because of the Covid-19 pandemic and will be held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from October 17 to November 14, while Abu is scheduled to begin on December 8 in Brisbane.
“I want to be part of the World Cup, for sure.
But from my point of view, the cricket test, that’s my main goal – to be the right to ash and try to imitate what I have done in the last few ash series I have invited,” said Smith.
Back to action after the prohibition throughout the year because of his role in the ball-tubmaring scandal in South Africa, Smith has collected 774 running in four tests of an average of 110.57, including two hundred, to emerge as a star player in the last ash series.
“I want to put myself in a position where I can have such an impact,” he said.
“If it means it doesn’t take part in the World Cup, then we have to go down the road, but hopefully we don’t have to go there.” Smith said he felt pain in his left wrist after changes in his grip and needed painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs during the recent task in the Indian Premier League which is now suspended.
“I have made a little progress with it last few weeks.
I started hitting, only 10 minutes at a time, and basically my way now to return to play was building from there,” he said.
“Because it’s a tendon (injury), basically how you (feel when you) wake up the next day, so I started from 10 minutes and if I wake up the next day and I’m fine, then I can get there 12 minutes, And if I wake up well again, I go up to 15.
“right now I’m in – 15 minutes – and I have to build up to 45 to get one point where Medicos believes I can feel comfortable.
