Smugglers teak wood piercing chowkidar to death in Sironcha

Chandrapur / Nagpur: Four teak smugglers borne by Chowkidar 47 years, Samaiyya Gora, at Medigatta Barrage Check Post in early Sunday at Sironcha Taluka from Gadchiroli on the border of Maharashtra-Telangana.
He was then declared dead at the hospital in Hyderabad.

SP Ankit Goyal said that the police tried to zero at the attackers.
Range Forest Officer (RFO), Sironcha, Shrinivas Katku said the checkpoint of the Medigatta series was arranged about a month ago to check the movement of teak wood smugglers.
“Previously, smugglers would teach the forest across the river but they had shifted to surface transportation after the road to the series of Medigatta opened,” said a source of Sironcha.
There are several battles between the forest team and teak wood smugglers on the border of the country in the past, but this for the first time someone from the Ministry of Forestry has been killed.
About a few months ago, an officer of the ranks of the police inspector’s assistant from Telangana, who now works in the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), was found allegedly involved in smuggling teak wood.
It was studied, he had fled after threatening forest guards with firearms.

The four attackers, who were identified as teak wood smugglers, approached Gora as he talked to someone through a cellphone.
The attackers asked if he was Samaiyya.
Once he answered with affirmatively, one smuggler dropped from the bicycle and stabbed him.
Leaving a very bloody Gora, smugglers escaped from the place.
RFO Taku said Gora rushed to the Sironcha rustic hospital from where he was referred to Hyderabad.
“We have raised this checkpoint a few months ago to curb teak smuggling to neighboring Telangana.
This step blocked the key smuggling route of teak wood and the loggers in the area lured it,” Katku said.
RFO said the Ministry of Forestry has undergone treatment burden and has provided EX-Gratia assistance to his family for funerals.
“However, there is no provision to provide any compensation for daily wage workers even if they die on duty,” Katku said.
“We will try to help families (Gora) through personal contributions,” RFO said.
