New Delhi: During the Covid-19 pandemic, shipping online services such as income, caste and birth certificates have come to save Lakh Delhies.
While until February 2020, 37 Lakh applications were accepted in 11 districts, increasing to 55 lakh in June 2021.
Likewise, until February 2020, the 25 lakh certificate was downloaded while the count passed 35 lakh in June 2021.
The Delhi e-area project was launched in 2015 As part of the promise of AAP’s digital governance, seeks to make all government services accessible in a transparent, efficient way without requiring people to visit government offices.
In September 2018, shipping online services were launched with 40 services, and now offering 108 services.
With many departments that meet the target of 100%, the system helps people avoid crowds, especially during covid pandemics.
Last week, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal had asked the department to take time limit steps to bridge the Digital Divide to make the system accessible by all parts of people.
“He insisted that the idea was to ensure service delivery without a physical interface, so that the red ribbon or ordinary people abuse can be fully avoided,” said an official.
Online service delivery can be accessed by pressing 1076.
It was stopped for five months ago because of a pandemic.
According to the Information Technology Department, Delhi has 31,19,095 registered users for digital delivery in February 2020, which increased to 39.85.405 in November 2020 and 46.75,716 in June 2021.
This shows that people are in a hurry to take advantage of shipping services Digital rather than going to the government office to find a variety of services because of Covid-19 and also because of the ease and transparency of the system, “said an official.
While the number of applications for digital services increased from 37,36,078 to 55,10,657 between February 2020 and June 2021, the success of downloading certificates had risen from 25.08.170 to 35.22,422 in the same period.
Official documents prepared by the department, accessed by TOI, shows that the highest certificate request is for Castes (OBC and SC) at 14.32.479, followed by revenue (13,31,944), the registration of construction workers for the welfare scheme (4,11,795) , registration of civil defense volunteers (3,52,733), Domicile evidence (2.56,580), Anna Yojana Anyodaya Card (1,89,280), and old age pensions (1,34,381).
E-district, a comprehensive service portal where citizens can access various government services, also provide online verification from various certificates issued by various departments.
“The E-district imagines to reduce duplicates at each level in the government, thus increasing the operational efficiency of the entire system,” an official said.
“Our main goal is to maximize the comfort of citizens, improve operational efficiency, improve quality and provide time-bound and troublesome services.” The department has reached the target of 100% including the Directorate of Education, Tourism, Food Supply, Women’s Development & Child, Transportation, Excise, Industry, Food Security Department, Labor Department, Delhi Jal and Delhi Polution Control Committee.
