Thiruvananthapuram: Noted social professor and scientist K Saradamani died at her home in Ambalamukku here on Wednesday. She was 93. She died old related disorders. Her mortal remains were cremated at Muttathara. She’d authored novels, such as Emergence of a Slave Caste, Pulayas of Kerala, Women at Paddy Cultivation: A study in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, Matriliny Transformed: Family Law and Ideology in Twentieth Century Travancore (a remarkable job on matrilineal series (marumakkathayam), also edited the publication titled The Scribe Remembered — N Gopinathan Nair — His Life and Times. Saradamani had functioned at preparation division of Delhi’s Indian Statistical Institute by 1961 and retired in 1988. Late N Gopinathan, the primary editor of Janayugam, has been her husband. She’s survived by brothers Dr G Asha and G Arunima (KSHR). She’d authored many research articles as well as essays. tnn
