Socio-economic caste survey on the card after the census

New Delhi: The government is considering the other socio-economic caste census (SECC) after the peak of the 2021 lonely census, a training that will include data collection of OBC – increasing demand from political classes and mandal clothing.
The government, the UPA has conducted SCC in 2011 which combines the collection of data on the socio-economic status of rural households with their caste identity.
The NDA government does not form the expert committee needed to analyze caste data even when the center uses information for the welfare scheme.
Information related to caste is seen suffering from deficiencies such as those that have been recorded even during the government upa.
The sources placed properly said there was a new consideration to do SCC again since the 2011 data was old and outdated.
Many expert committees related to the Ministry of Rural Development have also recommended that surveys are carried out early to update data.
“There has been no decision about the proposal but is being discussed seriously,” said an official.
However, SCC will only follow the 2021 census that has been delayed more than one and a half years due to covid pandemic.
Therefore, even if the decision is taken for SCC, it is a long-term project.
Political parties are increasingly passionate in demanding the count of the OBC head, which they think are needed to target the steps of welfare for the backward caste.
However, many of which feel the data on the reverse caste will be used by mandal clothing to encourage a 27% quota for OBC.
Some quarters feel that since the OBC population will definitely rise by around 42%, data will provide strong ammunition to lobby to eliminate 50% long stamp on reservations which are the main barriers to the quota retreat.
