Coimbatore: S Murugan, a resident of Poongga Nagar in Sitra, has applied for a recent drinking water connection.
Although this application was successfully processed by City Corporation, he could not make payments for connections to complete the process.
Corporate officials blame it on software errors.
“I made several visits to the corporate office, but could not make a payment.
I really need a water connection and I bought RO water now,” he said.
Like Murugan, some residents find it difficult to get new connections for the past two months.
R Selvagomathi, a resident of Vellalore, said he could not get the right reply from the official when he would get a connection.
Coimbatore Corporation has migrated to an urban tree information system (UTIS), which is widely used by local bodies in the country, on August 18.

Corporate officials said the disorder would be repaired in two days.
