Soil Conversion: Govt Prodes Rs 447 Crore

Thiruvananthapuram: In the past year, the government obtained RS 447 Crore through the conversion of land in the state, Revenue Minister K Rajan said in the assembly on Wednesday.
Responding to the movement of the attention of the appeal on the application that was delayed for land conversion in the state, the minister said that 100 years ago, according to the details of the settlement of land, there were 30 lakh hectares of rice land in the state.
In 1970, so far was 20 lakh acres and when the Paddy Land area was rated 14 years ago, so far reduced to 5 lakh acres, he said.
The Minister said that to overcome the environmental issues and reduction of agricultural land areas, the government must introduce actions against the conversion of rice and wetlands in 2008.
In accordance with the provisions of the law, while the conversion of wetlands has been completely prohibited.
, Rice land can be filled only for home construction and for public purposes.
Families who do not have land other than rice land are allowed to fill rice ground to 10 cents in the Panchayat area and up to five cents in the city to build a house, depending on conditions.
The minister said that all rice land on the day where the action came into effect, was included in the data bank.
However, there are provisions to exclude the rice land from the data bank that is filled before the action appears and is still included in the data data.
Amendments 27A in laws are introduced to change the status of land fulfilled before the action will take effect, but it is still recorded in a record of income as rice soil or wetlands.
In accordance with this, no permission is needed to build a 120SQ M house in 10 cents and to build a commercial building 40SQ M in five cents converted soil.
However, for other purposes, costs must be sent for repentance, he said.
He added that the disposal of applications for land conversion of up to 50 cents is being carried out on the basis of a report of village officials and for land conversion above 50 cents on the basis of village officers and reports of agricultural officers and also based on satellite images.
land.
Such strict provisions have been included to ensure that the land converted after 2008 is irregular, the minister added.
