Chennai: The State Government on Tuesday announced Solar Parks across the country to generate 4,000 mw of solar energy with battery storage system of 2,000 mw in areas not covered by the company and the municipality.
The Government is also committed to installing Smart Meters to facilitate the monitoring of power consumption, and facilitate the payment of either postpaid or prepaid with zero votes.
Distribution transformers will also get a smart meter at 1,270 crore.
Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji said the government will set up 11 projects MAKING STORAGE PEMUMUMAN in some districts based on the feasibility to increase the capacity of 7.500mw.
“The government will re-examine the implementation of the expansion project UdaDudi II and III.
Tangedco has appealed to the government to shift the thermal power plant uppur to UdaDudi.
Having uppur in uppur plant itself will be re-examined,” said the Minister.
The government will install 900 feeders at ₹ 550 crore, transformers at ₹ 679 crore.
