PATIALA: A car carrying three soldiers fell to Canal Bhakra at Nabha Road near Ablowal in Patiala on Tuesday, leaving one dead resident and the others were missing.
However, one of them managed to swim to a safe place.
Police officials said the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m.
near Bakhshiwalabridge.
The soldier sat in the rear seat of the car and managed to get out safely but the other two couldn’t go and go by vehicle.
Search operations have been launched to find missing soldiers.
The dead army has been identified as Jagmeet Singh from the village of Nadanpur in Bhawaniigarh from Sangrur Regency while the missing soldier is Manpreet Singh of Patiga.
Kamaljeet Singh from Devigarh in Patiala managed to get out safely.
Jagmeet, 27, was married last year.
