WASHINGTON: US Top US infectious diseases Anthony Fauci says on Sunday that Americans whose immune is compromised may need a Covid-19 vaccine amplifier.
“Those who are transplant patients, cancer chemotherapy, automatic immune disease, namely in immunosupressant regimens, namely the type of individual which if there will be a third booster, which is likely to occur, will be the first,” said Fauci during the CNN interview.
Quoting the latest research that shows possibly immunity with vaccinated people, Fauci said US health officials were reviewing data to determine when booster might be needed.
“This is a dynamic situation.
This is an ongoing job, it develops like in so many other fields of pandemic,” said Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious diseases.
“You have to see the data.”
