Some users who update their MacOS to Monterey complain that USB devices include hubs and docks do not work after upgrading.
This is not officially confirmed by Apple if this problem is widespread or not, but a number of users have reported that MacOS Monterey causes problems, especially with USB 3.0 devices.
Some users say that HDMI and the USB-C port of their hub function properly but for some users of their USB hub do not work at all.
Users have reported this problem in the Apple developer forum itself since July when MacOS Monterey is in his beta.
Now after the public is available, the more users find it.
Macrumor reports that users on the developer forum write, “I cannot connect a trackball or keyboard through a USB 2.0 port or 3.0 hub into the air since installing Monterey Port VGA Hub still functioning at Monterey; I have not been able to test other ports.
Also, different hubs ( With a fewer ports …) it doesn’t work.
“The report added that some users complained that Apple’s support staff asked them to use Apple’s certified hub to fix it, this problem still continues.
.
Other users write it, “My solution (recently found) using a very short USB-C cable (eg 30cm)! For me, now everything works …
but it shouldn’t be a permanent solution.” This report also said that the Thunderbolt Dock was not affected by this problem.
Every specific trigger for this problem has not been confirmed but, they may be to the processor used in certain hubs or docks.
