Gurugram: Gurugram police have detained several people who disturb Muslims who offer ‘Namaz’ (prayer) and began shouting the slogan ‘Jai Shree Ram’ in the 12th sector.
About 500 police personnel were deployed at five places where Muslims offer ‘Namaz’ in the city on Friday.
The move was taken after the threat of disruption with the right Wing Hindu group if the prayer was offered in Open, which was reported.
Five designated prayer sites including DLF Phase-3, Sector 12A, Sector 14, Sector 56 and Sector 47.
Previously, the group had disrupted one of the sites in the sector 47.
Residents and locals joined Hindu protests at the time of ‘Namaz’ Fridays in a row for the past two weeks.
Apart from this, on October 26, Hindu groups, under Sanyukt Hindu Sangharsh Samiti banners, filed a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Gurugram stated that they would not tolerate Friday prayers in the open.
However, officials claimed that they were ready to overcome any problems and no one would be permitted to disrupt the situation of law and order in all districts.
A senior police officer said that they had mobilized several police personnel to defend the law and order in all sensitive places.
“We have complicated security arrangements and a senior police officer will patrol a sensitive area that will ensure the security and security of people who offer ‘Namaz’,” he said.
Haji Shehzad Khan, Chairman of the Muslim EKTA Manche, said, “We follow all the necessary directions provided by local administration.
We do not want to disrupt the legal and order situation, but if they (Hindu groups) target us, we target us, we will not Sitting Shaped.
“Mehmood Khan’s Mebel Shop Owner filed a written complaint at the Sector 14 police station that last Friday, residents and several other people protested against ‘Namaz’ in open areas.
In 2018, the district government has set 37 sites in the city for Muslims to offer Friday prayers after protests by Hindu groups.
