Chandrapur: Even when the government has not made a decision regarding the reopening of schools in urban areas, a group of schools in Chandrapur City have started physical classes.
The source claims that the recovery of delayed costs, the pressure of parents and competition from schools that functions in rural areas forces them in the city to restart the class.
There are at least half a dozen large private schools in the Gram Panchayat area on the outskirts of the city.
They have started the class for STD VIII to STD XII from July 15 in accordance with the state government guidelines to reopen schools in rural areas.
Decisions about schools in urban areas have continued.
Collector Ajay Gulhane said that he had not received orders or direction from the government to reopen schools in urban areas.
“So, there is no order forwarded to reopen the school at Chandrapur City,” he said.
Educational officers (secondary school), Ulhas Narad agreed that several schools in the city of Chandrapur had reopened but explained that his department had not issued permission for it.
The Department of School Education has issued an AR which allows schools in urban areas (regions of the Municipal Council and City Council) to be reopened on August 10, taken after bringing the views of stakeholders.
